Around the Tiers with "Action for Older Persons"

(WBNG Binghamton) Action for Older Persons is offering computer classes to all ages!

Action for Older Persons (AOP) is an innovative and visionary organization that enhances the lives of adults and empowers them to prepare for the future. The mission of Action for Older Persons, Inc. is to assist individuals by providing timely, accurate, and unbiased information in preparation for aging. AOP educates and collaborates to promote quality of life through the aging process for older adults, their families and caregivers. AOP is a private, non-profit, United Way member agency which was founded in 1967.

In the Fall of 2000, Action for Older Persons (AOP) opened the Edward Zola, Jr. Computer Lab and began offering introductory level computer classes and workshops designed with the learning styles of older adults in mind.

In 2002, the excellence of AOP's Computer Education Program was recognized by The New York State Coalition for the Aging, Inc. by awarding the program a 1st Place Senior Service Achievement Award.
