BCC Faculty and Student Exhibition Opens at BC Arts Council This First Friday

(WBNG Binghamton) Broome County Arts Council, located at 81 State Street, Suite 501 in downtown Binghamton, opens a new exhibition,  "Mentor and Student: A Selection of Fine and Applied Arts from Broome Community College", during the First Friday Art Walk on October 5th from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. 

According to a news release:

The exhibition features the artwork of nine faculty members of the BCC Fine & Media Arts Department as well as works by a students they have influenced. 

Exhibiting instructors include Andy Fitzsimmons, J W Johnston, Maryanne White, Nancy Ryan, Colleen Adour, Alisha Sickler, Richard Harrington, Norma Heslep, and Hall Groat II, who organized the exhibition.  

It includes photography, graphic design, ceramics, painting, drawing, intaglio, mixed-media, sculpture, and quirky, thought-provoking installation art. 

Musical performances by BCC music student and acoustic  guitarist Ed Butler at 6:15pm & 8:15pm and a special appearance by the Tri-Cities Opera Flash MoPera at 7:15pm.  

Free and open to the public, with refreshments sponsored by Price Chopper Supermarkets. 

The “Mentor and Student” exhibition will run through November 14 at the Broome County Arts Council gallery, open weekdays from 11:00am – 5:00pm.
