(WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton Philharmonic, José-Luis Novo music director, announced its 2012-2013 season Monday.
According to a news release:
The Binghamton Philharmonic will present four Classical Series concerts in the Osterhout Concert Theater of the Anderson Center at Binghamton University featuring major works such as Beethoven's Violin Concerto, Sibelius's 5th Symphony, Verdi's Requiem, Brahms's Symphony No. 3 and Shostakovich's 6th Symphony and guest artists from the greatest orchestras in the country, including New York Philharmonic clarinetist Pascual Martinez Forteza (Weber Clarinet Concerto. No. 2) and Pittsburgh Symphony's concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley (Beethoven Violin Concerto), as well as vocalists Janice Chandler Eteme, Stacey Rishoi, Marco Panuccio, Gustav Andreassen, and the Binghamton University Chorus (Verdi's Requiem).
The Binghamton Philharmonic's Pops Series in the Forum Theatre starts off the holiday season with the Boston Brass, back by popular demand. The Pops Series concludes with the return of Jeans n' Classics in a tribute to The Eagles, one of America's best loved bands.
The Binghamton Philharmonic's Chamber Music Series, held in the Anderson Center Chamber Hall, will feature the New Orford String Quartet, featuring Binghamton native Brian Manker. The series concludes in March with a performance by the Trio Cavatina, the 2009 winners of the prestigious Naumburg Chamber Music Competition.
In addition to its subscription series concerts, the Binghamton Philharmonic will also present a special Mother's Day weekend performance featuring Disney in Concert on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30pm at the Forum Theatre.
Subscription Tickets to the Classical, Pops and Chamber Series are on sale now. New Classical and Pops Subscribers pay only 50% of the adult single ticket price: Classical Series (4 concerts): Adults $84/Children and Students $40; Pops Series (2 Concerts): Adults $48/ Children and Students $24; Chamber Series (2 Concerts): Adults $42/Children and Students $20. Single Tickets go on sale on September 4, 2012. Classical Concert single ticket prices are Adults $15-$42/Children and Students $10. Disney in Concert single tickets are Adults $45-$55/ Children and Students $15-$25.
