Book Signing, Dracula Musical, Improv Comedy, Fine Art & More Among Highlights of Next First Friday Art Walk Nov. 2

(WBNG Binghamton) Johnny Hart’s B.C. comes to First Friday as well as Dracula, improv comedy and a multitude of fine art at the next First Friday Art Walk in Binghamton, NY, on November 2.

According to a news release:

Start your artwalking early at Orion Beauty and Balance Salon (118 Gorgeous Washington St., downtown Binghamton) for a book signing of the new B. C. comic strip book, “B. C. Reinvents the Wheel” by Mason Mastroianni.

As the B. C. comic strip cartoonist who is Hart’s grandson, will be on site at Orion signing the new B. C. book which cost $10. A portion of the proceeds of book sales will benefit the local Magic Paint Brush Project. While at Orion, also enjoy several artists exhibiting their work including Katherine N. Scott, Angela Cook, Santana Bokham and Douglas Bogart (Photography). There’s also Bellydance by Egyptian Twist (egypiantwist.com), New Designs by E-Ky Jewelry & Boutique, and music by Bryon Rood of Hallstead on guitar.

As you continue artwalking, be sure to catch the performance of “Dracula the Musical,” a presentation by Half Light Theatre at Roberson Museum (30 Front St., west side) in the Mansion Ballroom at 7:30 PM. Tickets $15 in advance, $18 at the door.

On First Friday, also visit The Art Mission & Theater (61 Prospect Ave., off Lewis St.) for the improv comedy previews and performance, gallery show and Kirtan music on First Friday. The Puzzled Players will present two, free Improv Comedy previews at 7 & 8 PM with a full show at 9:30 PM, $10 admission. In the Gallery: “Hope for the Best” - Prints on Paper by Marie Komanecky (Thru Nov. 2012). There will also be Kirtan Music by Vishuddha from Vishnu's Couch Yoga Studio, playing on and off on First Friday from 6-9 PM.

This First Friday Art Walk, sponsored by M&T Bank and presented by the Gorgeous Washington Street Association (GWSA), will feature 29 locations in Binghamton, downtown, west side, and south side, and open November 2 from 6-9 PM, unless noted otherwise.
