(WBNG Binghamton) Catholic Charities of Broome County will hold a press conference on Monday October 15 , 3pm at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Parish Center on Hawley Street ( between Fayette and Jay Streets)  to highlight the Holiday Sign Up process for local residents in need who would like to participate in either the Thanksgiving or Christmas programs in our community.

According to a news release issued Thursday:

This is a three-day event in Binghamton , beginning October 15 , 16 and 17 from noon until 6pm. Families and individuals can sign up for a Thanksgiving Basket and at the same time sign their children up for one of the Christmas programs being offered by agencies in our community.

“We anticipate that the number of people requesting assistance for the holiday programs offered by Catholic Charities and other community agencies will be higher than ever. Last year we were able to provide 3300 turkeys and the fixings for Thanksgiving to over 8,000 people,” said Lori Accardi, Executive Director. “We want to make sure that everyone in our community is aware of the sign up process occurring so that we can serve them this year.”

Residents of Vestal, Endicott or Endwell (zip codes 13760 and 13850 only) may sign up at Mother Teresa’s Cupboard 203 Garfield Ave. Endicott, NY on Monday October 15 and Wednesday October 17 from 9am till 3pm for a Thanksgiving basket only. Families desiring to sign up for a Christmas program MUST go to St. Mary’s Parish Center.
