Binghamton, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) -- The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that it will partner with Worldwide Sport Supply in Vestal to host the 2012 Greater Binghamton Bridge Run Pre-Race Expo and Packet Pick-Up.
According to a news release:
The Race Expo and Packet Pick-Up will take place Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Metrocenter, 49 Court Street in Binghamton. The event is held one-day prior to the 2nd annual Greater Binghamton Bridge Run which will take place on Sunday, May 6th at NYSEG Stadium. Race organizers are anticipating more than 2,000 runners to take part in the USATF certified half marathon and 5K races.
Worldwide will host the pre-race Expo and will offer specialty Bridge Run apparel and other essential running amenities before the race. Bridge Run participants are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-race Expo and Packet Pick-Up to receive their race bib, timing tag and race shirt.
Worldwide is also working with Bridge Run race organizers to create specialty pre-sale items that will be available on the Bridge Run website, www.binghatmonbridgerun.org beginning early March. Worldwide has extensive experience in road race events, and has worked with organizers for Corning’s Wineglass Marathon and Half Marathon for several years.
Race organizers are looking forward to working with Worldwide and creating a signature brand for Bridge Run apparel. “Worldwide will be a terrific edition to the Bridge Run event,” said Lou Santoni, president & CEO of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re very enthusiastic to partner with The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce to host the 2nd annual Binghamton Bridge Run. We anticipate a great race and are excited to facilitate a local growing event for runners,” said TJ Ciaravino, VP of Sales and Marketing at Worldwide Sport Supply.
Race organizers will also be running a fundraiser with Gance’s Catering at the Expo and Packet Pick-Up. Proceeds will be given to the 2012 Bridge Run charity partner, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The Greater Binghamton Bridge Run is hosted by the Chamber and Title Sponsors, Lourdes, UHS, Excellus BCBS, GHS Federal Credit Union and the Binghamton Mets and in partnership with Equinox Broadcasting, News Channel 34 and WICZ-TV Fox 40.
