(WBNG Binghamton) The Conklin Business Association is hosting three events to celebrate the holiday season.

According to a news release:

First, there is a scavenger hunt based on the movie, “A Christmas Story,” that will take you to various businesses in Conklin as you solve the clues. The final clue will be revealed at the Community Christmas Party to be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012, from 1 to 4 P.M. at the Floyd Maines Community Center, 942 Conklin Road, Conklin, New York.

The first ten people to solve all of the clues and get their papers stamped at the participating businesses will win a prize donated by the Conklin Business Association.

A “Fill the Train with Toys” toy drive is also being sponsored by the Conklin Business Association. Woodside Wood Products crafted a beautiful wooden train that is currently at the Conklin Town Hall, 1271 Conklin Road, with the hope that the community will fill the train with toys for children in need in our local community.

The third event is a “Light Up Conklin” home and business decorating contest. The winning homeowner will receive a $100 cash prize, and the two runners-up will each receive a $50 cash prize, all donated by the Conklin Business Association.

All of the excitement culminates at the Community Christmas party at the Floyd Maines Community Center on December 15. The Conklin Kiwanis Club will donate free funnel cakes; the Conklin Rotary Club will donate free popcorn; the Conklin Beautification Corps – free cookies; Fidelis Cares – free hot chocolate; and there will be free facepainting for the children and a free book. Gift wrapping will be available for a donation. Santa will arrive on the fire truck for a visit! Don’t miss the excitement as Conklin celebrates Christmas!
