Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Plenty of local talent are taking the stage in downtown Binghamton this weekend, and you're invited to be a part of the fun.

The KNOW Theater began hosting the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, Region 1 Competition.

A variety of unique plays were performed in front of an eager audience. One of the plays won the national title for best short play.

Organizers said the directors and actors are mostly local, and to expect stories that will get everyone talking.

"We're going to present some exciting challenging theater that will make them think and have some conversation when they leave here. And Saturday night we're doing a talk-back, so if they really like to talk, Saturday night is the night to come. We can actually talk back to the writers and ask them questions," said Artistic Director Tim Gleason.

If you didn't get a chance to make it out Thursday night, you can come Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

Tickets are $10.
