Cooking Up Pierogi Lasagna

(WBNG Binghamton) - For several days this month, there was a certain story that reigned supreme.

For 4 days in a row, a recipe for Pierogi Lasagna ranked #1 on our website above any weather or even news story.

So, recently - we decided to see what it was all about.

We headed into the kitchen and had the pierogi experts at St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church in Binghamton to help us cook up the treat.

The ingredients:
12 lasagna noodles
1/3 cup vegetable oil
5 medium-sized onions, finely chopped (about 3 cups)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
6 cups warm seasoned mashed potatoes, store-bought or homemade
