Defensive Driving Course Offered at JCC on March 10

(WBNG Binghamton) The Adult/Teen Department at the JCC is offering the New York State Defensive Driving course on Sunday, March 10 from 9am – 4pm (with 1-hour lunch break). 

According to a news release:

This 6-hour class helps community members with safety information, as well as can save money them money on their car insurance.  The JCC is located at 500 Clubhouse Road, Vestal, NY 13850.

The cost for the Defensive Driving class is $25.00 a person and payment is required with Pre-Registration to JCC at least 1 week PRIOR to the class session.  Checks should be made payable to the National Safety Council certified instructor: James Esposito. Registration is requested by calling the JCC at 607-724-2417 or coming to the JCC office.

The Defensive Driving course presents safe driving tips and valuable information to new and experienced drivers.  Certified National Safety Council instructors offer a new approach to accident prevention skills using National Safety Council materials.

New York State drivers who complete this course become eligible for:
-    A 10% discount on automobile liability and collision insurance premiums for 3 years
-    Reduce driver violation point total by a maximum of 4 points.

Youthful drivers who have passed their road test (including those already receiving a Driver’s Education discount), experienced drivers, mature drivers, and assigned risk are all eligible.  In addition, drivers who have incurred violation points on their driving record during the 18-month period prior to the course completion will automatically receive a maximum of FOUR points reduced from the total accumulation on their driving record
