Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) One Union-Endicott team is going to the Destination Imagination Globals in May.
The Pink-a-Dinks, made up of students from Ann G. McGuinness and George F. Johnson, won their category at the New York State DI Tournament that was held at U-E High School in April.
The seven girls organized a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and created storybooks for two children dealing with devastating illnesses.
They also participated in the parties for the children when their wishes were granted.
The team is (in attached picture L-R): (front row) Kate Brennan, Sarah Kupiec, Nicole Madison (back row) Maddie Burns, Claire Rodgers, Anna Eurillo and Claire DePalma. Six girls attend AGM while Kate goes to GFJ. The team managers (not pictured) are Kelly Eurillo and Katelyn Madison.
The Global Tournament is the week of May 24 at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. To go, the girls will have to raise several hundred dollars each to offset travel expenses.
They have planned several fundraisers:
April 30: 5-7 p.m. at Jumping Jungle (535 Vestal Parkway West in Vestal) Tickets cost $10
May 4: McDonalds MC DI Night (at the McDonalds on Main Street in Endicott, near the District Office) 5:30-8 p.m.
