(WBNG Binghamton) Ithaca Police Department Acting Chief John R. Barber and Tompkins County Sheriff Ken Lansing are pleased to announce a joint initiative to offer free gun locks to residents of Tompkins County.
According to a news release:
The gun locks are available to all residents of Tompkins County. There is no limit to the number of gun locks that a person can request and no ID will be required.
The gun locks will be available for pickup Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Ithaca Police Department and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department.
Chief Barber and Sheriff Lansing request that City of Ithaca residents pick up the gun locks only at the Ithaca Police Department and all other county residents pick up gun locks at the Sheriff’s Department.
