Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick has pledged to be the first off the diving board when Treman State Park opens for swimming on one condition.

If $2,500 is raised for United Way of Tompkins County's Hunger and Food Security Fund, the mayor will kickoff the swimming season at the park at noon June 21.

The Hunger and Food Security Fund supports local food pantries and community organizations throughout Tompkins County.

This event is sponsored by the Ithaca and Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
