(WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Older Drivers Network will host its 2nd annual Senior Safety Day on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the Johnson City Senior Center, 30 Brocton Ave, Johnson City.
According to a news release:
The day’s event will include five safety-related programs starting at 12:30 p.m. Participating seniors who visit all five programs will receive a thank you gift.
Senior Safety Day Programs will include:
Union Volunteer Emergency Squad – Learn the warning signs for stroke and heart attack, when you should call an ambulance and the Yellow Dot Program.
Independence Awareness LLC – Find out how to prevent slips and falls – which are the main cause of injury for older persons in the home.
New York State Police – Enjoy an outdoor canine demonstration and learn how dogs can help protect the public and aide law enforcement in the field.
Broome County Older Drivers Network – Presents Senior Drive, a Driving Wellness Checklist©. Get ready for summer travel with a quick in-vehicle safety assessment as well as a complimentary tire check. Learn how to properly adjust your mirrors, steering wheel, seat belt and much, much more!
