M&T Bank downtown Ithaca summer concert series

Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Live from the 100 block of West State Street, under the State Theatre of Ithaca marquee, the Downtown Ithaca Alliance is hosting the M&T Bank Summer Concert Series.

The concerts will be Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. starting June 19 until September 4.

There will also be one “Welcome Back Students Show” featuring the Sim Redmond Band September 5. 

The shows are free and open to the public.

The 2014 series brings a diverse range of musicians, including passionate, progressive-funk band Mutorn Warriors, to the hip-hop and heavy bass of The Gunpoets.

The series anticipates returning to the commons upon completion of the renovation project.

Beverages will be available for purchase at each of the shows, including regional beer and wine.

People can park in the Green or Seneca Street garages and walk to the series. Parking is free in the garages after 8 p.m. or at street meters after 6 p.m.

Thursday 7/31 – The Horse Flies - Electric Old Time


Thursday 8/7 – Thousands of One - Funk, Soul & Reggae

Thursday 8/14 – The Gunpoets – Hip Hop

Thursday 8/21 – Rockwood Ferry - Progressive Folk

Thursday 8/28 – (6-9 pm) Jimkata and Second Dam – Electro Rock (Presented by GreenStar Natural Foods Market)


Thursday 9/4 – The Blind Spots – Moxy Rock

Friday 9/5 – (6-9 pm) Welcome Back Students with Sim Redmond Band - Roots Rock
