Endwell, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) -- Maine-Endwell High School will have a new principal starting this school year.
The Maine-Endwell Board of Education on Tuesday appointed Julie Gallagher to the position. She will begin her duties on Aug. 15.
Gallagher replaces Jason Van Fossen who will begin his duties as Maine-Endwell transition administrator on Aug. 15 and assume the duties of superintendent on Sept. 2.
Gallagher has spent her entire education career in the Maine-Endwell School District, as a teacher, coach and administrator. Most recently she served as assistant principal at the High School since 2000. Prior to becoming an administrator, Gallagher taught business classes at the High School, and was a reading teacher at Homer Brink and Maine Memorial elementary schools. She was also a business communications instructor at Binghamton University for two years.
Gallagher received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from SUNY Albany, and her Master of Science in Reading Education from Binghamton University. She received her NYS teaching certification in business education from SUNY Oneonta and her Certificate of Advanced Study, Education Administration from SUNY Cortland.
