Maine-Endwell Students to Perform in State Music Festivals

(WBNG Binghamton) Several Maine-Endwell students were selected to participate in state music festivals taking place in November.

According to a news release:

The following High School students have been selected to participate in the 2012 NYSSMA All-State Conference and Festival Nov. 29 to Dec. 2 in Rochester: Symphonic Band: Jordan Loretz, baritone saxophone; Symphony Orchestra: Brooke Bart, flute; Josie Trichka, horn; Mixed Chorus: MacKenzie Gannon, soprano; Brendan Gardner, tenor II; Women’s Chorus: Katherine Zaslavsky alto II. Students selected as alternates are Brooke Bart, piccolo, Kellie Daino, bass clarinet, Jennifer Robble, soprano, and Jordan Loretz, jazz tenor saxophone.

Participants are selected based on their Level 6 All-State audition held this spring. The students will perform in concert with other accomplished student musicians at the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music.

The following High School students were selected to participate in the 2012 NYSSMA Area All-State Festival Nov. 16 to 17 in Oneonta: Chorus: Kiana Labrecque, soprano; Mikayla Wright, soprano II; and Abbey Wyatt, alto I; Orchestra: Chloe Higgins, violin; and Serena Labrecque, violin; Band: Amanda Meade, oboe: Brendan Gardner, bassoon; Maggie Caroompas,  trumpet; Brian Talbot, trumpet; Ivan Burkhalter, alto saxophone; and Matthew Moon, percussion. 

Participants are selected based on their spring NYSSMA Solo Festival rating, along with a teacher recommendation. The students will perform in concert 3 p.m. Nov. 17 in the Hunt Ballroom on the SUNY Oneonta campus.

The following Middle School and High School students were selected to participate in the NYSSMA Junior High Area All-State Festival Nov. 2 to 3 in Ithaca: Chorus: Anne Wallikas, Megan Hull, Megan MarkAnthony and Gulnara Borisova; Band: Nicholas Pham and Nathan Clink.

The students were selected to participate based on their spring NYSSMA Solo Festival rating, along with a teacher recommendation. They will perform in concert 3 p.m. Nov. 3 at Ithaca High School.
