(WBNG Binghamton) Broome County Executive Debbie Preston and Front Street Dog Shelter Manger Kelly Conlon are requesting Broome County residents take part in the second annual Make a Difference Day at the County-owned Front Street Dog Shelter.
According to a news release:
The County will hold an Open House at the Dog Shelter on Saturday, October 261, 2013 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
“Our dog shelter delivers outstanding service and provides a safe place for animals that don’t have a home,” says Broome County Executive Debbie Preston. “Several Towns in the County as well as the City of Binghamton rely on this shelter to take in stray, unlicensed, and unwanted dogs, at a lower cost than they could provide. This saves our local municipalities money, but the Shelter needs your help.”
Visitors will have the opportunity to drop off much needed supplies, register to become a volunteer, adopt a dog or simply stop by for a visit or walk a dog.
The Shelter is asking for individuals and groups to consider donating:
- Tide Liquid Laundry Detergent
- Dawn Dish Detergent (Blue)
- Clorox Bleach
- Pedigree Adult-size Dry Dog Food
- Pedigree Canned Dog Food
- Dog Treats
- Extra Large Crates
- NYLA Bones
