Military and Veterans Appreciation Events Set for July 1 at Watkins Glen International

(WBNG Binghamton) All Military members and veterans are invited to come Sunday, July 1st, to The Watkins Glen International Track for A Military and Veterans appreciation event hosted by The Odessa American Legion, The American Red Cross and Watkins Glen International.

According to a news release:

Each military member or veteran and 1 adult family member will receive complimentary entry to the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen race (Children 18 and under are free as well).  They will be greeted by two of the Buffalo Jills … then sit down to a complimentary family style picnic lunch while supplies last. They will be able to use their entry tickets to try for one of the many door prizes. There will be plenty of games and activities for the kids. Check out the car corral full of local car club hot rods, military and civilian vehicles. Representatives from local community organizations such as the VA, Corning Community College, Catholic Charities, Schuyler Hospital and many more will have booths set up to provide information and assistance specifically geared toward military members.

Proof of service is required for free entry, such as military ID, VA ID, VFW or American Legion member card, DD214, or other suitable identification.
