(WBNG Binghamton) Mirabito Energy Products will assist in the recovery of the New York City, Newark and Jersey City areas, recently affected by Hurricane Sandy.
According to a news release issued Thursday:
The company will transport five to six loads of diesel and gasoline downstate and to New Jersey by the end of the day on November 1, in an effort to provide energy relief to the area. Supply will be taken to first responders such as fire departments as well as other haulers needing fuel for their vehicles to transport food and other necessary supplies.
Energy supply has been severely affected because the storm has forced shut downs of much of the energy supply infrastructure in the NYC/NJ area, including the Buckeye Pipeline and barges coming from the NY Harbor.
Additionally, Mirabito is currently restocking its own convenience store and storage facilities throughout Central New York State. This will hopefully result is less stress on local gasoline and diesel fuel supplies and will assist in keeping the region “in fuel.”
