On Tuesday, August 6 the Broome County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Town of Maine will be hosting National Night Out.
National Night out is designed to heighten awareness regarding crime and drug prevention and strengthen our neighborhoods with anti-crime programs. This is a chance for our community to send a message to criminals that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Broome County Sheriff's Office will be operating several events including K-9 demonstrations, the Safe Child ID program, child safety seat installation and inspection as well as an informational display and various emergency vehicles on the premises.
The Town of Maine Volunteer Fire Company will also have demonstrations and equipment at the event.
It will take place in the Town of Maine park behind the Maine Memorial School from 6 to 8 pm Sheriff Harder is encouraging all to attend to have fun and learn how to help keep our community safe.
