Free class offered following new boating law

Johnson City, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) Free safe boating classes will be offered due to a new boating law.

The law, effective on May 1, requires everyone born on or after May 1, 1996 to complete an approved boater education course in order to operate a motorboat.

The Susquenango Sail & Power Squadron has scheduled free safe boating education classes on the following days:

- Monday, April 28 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
- Saturday, May 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Monday, May 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m

The classes will be held at the Johnson City High School and all sessions must be attended.
