(WBNG Binghamton) To help continue the fight against obesity in Broome County, the Southern Tier Surgical Clinic, with assistance from several area community organizations, is sponsoring the Walk/Fun Run to Prevent Childhood Obesity at Otsiningo Park on Saturday, October 6.
According to a news release:
Participants can choose what is best for them, either a 1-3 mile walk or the 5k (3.1 mile) Fun Run.
There will be games for kids, Zumba for adults and kids, bounce house, raffles prizes and face painting.
There is a $10 registration fee to participate in the walk/run events, and kids under 15 are free. Proceeds will benefit Stay Healthy Kids obesity prevention.
Vendors will be available for participants to learn more about what is going on in our community to help people lead healthier lives. Please come out and show your support for reducing the burden of obesity in our community through this fun filled event.
