Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Hundreds flock to a local movie theater for a special prescreening.

Monday night, viewers got to see the prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy--the Hobbit.

The special presentation was put on by Regal Cinemas and Binghamton's CW.

With the actual release of the movie not until Friday, this was an opportunity for local residents to get a jump on everyone else to experience the latest in the Tolkien saga.

"We've seen all the other Lord of the Rings in the movie theaters, so of course we're excited to see this one, too," said Dawn Jewett from Johnson City.

"We wanted to come in style, so we went all dwarfed out in our beardy goodness," Kaitlyn Maynard from Owego.

Tickets were available through Binghamton's CW, the Topic at 10 on Action News and the Can Man.
