(WBNG Binghamton) Individuals and families living in Broome County will have the opportunity to sign-up for a Thanksgiving Basket and to register their children for the Salvation Army’s Christmas Program.
According to a news release:
Individuals 18 years and older must provide proof of residency within the last 30 days and ID for each household member. In addition, one of the following qualifications must be met: On Public Assistance; Eligible for SSI/SSD; Eligible for HEAP; receiving Unemployment Benefits; receiving free or reduced school lunch; receiving WIC/School Lunch Program; receiving services through an agency, school or church.
Sign-ups for both the Thanksgiving Basket and Christmas Program will take place at Catholic Charities, 232 Main Street in Binghamton from Noon to 6 PM on Monday, October 21, Tuesday, October 22 or Wednesday, October 23.
Residents of Vestal, Endwell and Endicott may sign-up for a Thanksgiving Basket at Mother’s Teresa’s Cupboard, 202 Garfield Avenue in Endicott from 9 AM to 3 PM on Monday, October 21 or Wednesday, October 23.
All families wishing to sign-up for both programs at the same time must do so at the Catholic Charities location in Binghamton.
This Community Holiday Program is a joint effort by the Salvation Army, Catholic Charities and United Way 2-1-1.
