Southside Home Energy Efficiency Night features free food and door prizes

(WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton area homeowners interested in home energy savings are invited to join Mayor Matt Ryan and Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Energy Leadership Program for Southside Home Energy Efficiency Night on Tuesday April 23, 7-9pm at the Parish of Saints John and Andrew Church Hall, 1236 Vestal Ave between Livingston and Mill Streets.

According to a news release:

The event will feature demonstrations by local home performance contractors, along with a raffle of door prizes donated by area businesses, free pizza and drinks, and a free CFL Light Bulb will be given to the first 40 people in the door.

Residents will have the opportunity to sign up for a free comprehensive energy assessment information as the first step in making home energy improvements such as insulation and heating system upgrades. 

Homeowners interested in applying for an assessment should bring one copy of their latest energy bills. 

Information will be provided about low interest loans and incentives through the State’s Green Jobs Green New York program can make hundreds of dollars in energy savings accessible and affordable.
