"The First Step to Freedom," Around the Tiers

(WBNG Binghamton) Abraham Lincoln's Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation is making a tour across New York State. One of those stops will be right here in Binghamton. Jason Fiume and Terry McDonald were in the studio to tell us more.

"The First Step to Freedom" will feature to only existing handwritten version of Abraham Lincoln's document.

The event will be held Thursday, November 1st from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday November 2, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The exhibition will also include a document delivered by Martin Luther King Jr. in New York City for the Proclamation's Centennial.

The Museum is located on 30 Front Street in Binghamton.

Admission is free.
