(WBNG Binghamton) In July 2009 Gov. Patterson signed into law -- for the first time and the only time in New York State -- a State highway dedicated to the men and women who served in Vietnam. New York State Route 38 is now designated as the New York State Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor.

According to a news release:

The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapters 377, 480 and 704, Chapter 17 - The Blue Knights Motorcycle Club will be holding the “4th Annual Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor - Tribute Ride.”

The ride will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2012 from The Owego Free Academy, Owego, NY.  The 98 mile ride will end at the American Legion in the village of Hannibal…The ride is open to the public. Please register the day of the ride.

The ride will make one stop in the Village of Groton for food and gas, and then proceed north again where the ride will end at the American Legion in Hannibal, where once again there will be food and entertainment.
