(WBNG Binghamton) The Board of Directors of Tri-Cities Opera has announced the community launch of its 65th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign: ‘65 and SO Alive!’
According to a news release issued this week:
With a goal of raising 1.5 million dollars over the next year, the campaign marks only the second time in TCO’s history that the company has embarked on a fund-raising effort. Funds will be earmarked for needed capital improvements and enhancements to opera production funds.
Goals for the campaign include repairs to the roof and façade of TCO’s landmark 315 Clinton Street facility which are the primary offices for the opera company. TCO’s second stage, its set manufacturing, storage areas, costume warehouse and rehearsal areas are housed there. Funds would also be utilized to expand the set and costume catalogue which provides rental income to the company.
Donations would also be used to enhance the Hibbitt/Savoca Reserve Fund which provides scholarships and support to resident artists and Binghamton University Masters students.
Selected longtime supporters of Tri-Cities Opera have already been approached as part of a Leadership Giving solicitation. Thanks to their generous support, nearly 45% of the Campaign's goal has been achieved.
A variety of donor naming opportunities remain including: the Resident Artist Training Program; the Maestro’s Podium; and Individual Performer Endowments.
Those wishing to contribute to the '65 and SO Alive!' campaign can donate funds outright or pledge donations to be paid over a period of up to three years. Gifts of stock or investments will also be accepted.
