Conklin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The American Red Cross of the Southern Tier will hold a Water Safety Instructor training class at Susquehanna Valley High School.

To be eligible to become an instructor, you must be at least 16 years old and a proficient swimmer.

According to the Red Cross, this 30-hour course will help you teach skills that may save a life, gain work experience as an aquatics professional, earn money or join a volunteer team.

The classes will be held on the following days:
- June 26, 4 pm. to 8 p.m.
- June 27, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- June 30, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- July 1, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- July 2, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost of the class is $350 and includes the Water Safety Instructor Candidate Kit.
