Weis Markets Launches Healthy Heart Program

(WBNG Binghamton) Weis Markets on Tuesday announced the launch of the 4th annual Healthy Heart program with a kickoff event to be held at the Oakdale Mall, center court in Johnson City this Saturday, January 26th from 10 AM-2 PM.

According to a news release:

At the event, Weis Markets and area partners including WBNG-TV, American Heart Association, Broome County Health Department, United Health Services and Cornell Cooperative Extension will offer free health screenings, cooking and shopping tips, food samplings, heart-healthy recipes, coupons, giveaways and more.

An engaging entertainment schedule is planned with performances by local singing and dance groups, appearances by local TV personalities and Groove, Zumba and karate demonstrations is also planned.

Additional activities will include the famous Weis Grocery Giveaway where 100 bags of heart-healthy groceries, worth approximately $40, will be raffled for $1.00. All proceeds raised support the local Southern Tier chapter of the American Heart Association. Weis Markets area stores will also sell American Heart Association Red Hearts the weeks of February 9th and March 2nd to contribute to this fundraising effort.
