Weis Markets to kick off Little Binghamton League season with $3,000 donation

(WBNG Binghamton) Weis Markets announced this week it will hold a Little Binghamton League season kick-off at its Pennsylvania Avenue store in Binghamton on Saturday, April 13 where it will make a $3,000 donation to the League at Noon. 

According to a news release:

Over the past three years, Weis Markets has donated $9,000 to the league.

Weis Markets’ store team, which is hosting a Little League open house beginning at 11:30 am will present the check to Carol Quinlivan, City of Binghamton.  The donation will be used to purchase equipment for the league.  This event will have refreshments and hot dogs.

“Over the past three years our donations have helped the league purchase equipment and uniforms, which has helped increase participation rates,” said Mike Umstead, Weis Markets’ District Manager.  “Youth sports bring communities together and help children learn about team work and discipline – lessons that last a lifetime.  We are pleased to be able to help.”
