Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) This weekend isn't just about watching the pros at the En-joie Golf Course.

You could make a difference for many children right here in the Southern Tier as the Wendy's Walk For Kids kicks off this weekend from the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.

Event Coordinator Keli Cooper says the event looks to raise $100,000 this year.

"Children are our future," says Cooper. "I think we need to help the kids that may not have been given the opportunities we have had growing up."

The walk starts Sunday, June 26, at 4 p.m. at the En-joie Golf Course.

You can pre-register for 10-dollars, or register from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the day of the walk for 15-dollars.

Also, $25 of each Maroon 5 ticket sold at local Wendy's restaurants will be donated to the event.

All donations go to help The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Boys and Girls Clubs, The Discovery Center, and The Magic Paintbrush Project.
