(WBNG Binghamton) Broome County recently announced that Willow Point Nursing Home will now be smoke free and tobacco free.

According to a news release:

The new ban includes all kinds of tobacco as well as electronic cigarettes.

Smoking will be banned on the property including those areas that were previously designated as smoking areas including under the West Wing and the smoke house.

The changes will affect all staff, visitors, residents and guests.

In August, New York State adopted a new law prohibiting smoking on and around the properties of all hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
