(WBNG Binghamton) The YWCA/ENCOREpIus Breast Cancer Outreach, Education and Advocacy Program is holding its 2nd Annual All Paws for a Cause dog walk for breast cancer awareness on Sunday, August 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton.
According to a news release:
Come out and walk your dog or just enjoy the festivities. This event will have vendors selling special dog items, free gifts for participants and their dog, raffles, Doggie Fashion and Talent Show with prizes. There will also be demonstrations by New York State K-9 Unit, caricatures by Don Fed, food will be available for purchase, 101.7 will be there live on remote as well as many other activities.
All proceeds from this event support ENCOREpIus. The YWCAIENCOREpIus program is a community based outreach program that provides screening, education and advocacy services to the women of our community. ENCOREpIus assists women lacking adequate insurance obtain free breast and cervical cancer screenings at various local provider locations. ENCOREpIus also offers its clients free transportation to screening appointments. ENCOREpIus is continuing to work closely with the Cancer Services Program and the American Cancer Society to ensure all women in Broome and Tioga counties receive quality screenings and necessary follow up services.
