Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Crews responded to a building fire on Airport Road in Endicott Wednesday afternoon.

The fire was reported just before 4:25 Wednesday at 326 Airport Road in West Endicott.

West Corners Assistant Fire Chief Marc Loveland said a structure behind a residence caught fire. The structure is believed to be a large wooden shed.

The fire spread to two nearby garages.

Firefighters had it under control and knocked down within about 15 minutes. Loveland said the quick execution from the firefighters eliminated a larger threat.

"With the other garages that were exposures to the building, the potential for all of the buildings to go be complete losses, but we were able to contain it so the two other garages had minimal damage to them," Loveland said.

Loveland said the building that caught fire is destroyed. The other garages sustained minor damage.

Crews from West Corners, Endicott, Endwell and Broome County were called to the scene.

The cause remains under investigation. No one was injured.
