Cortland, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Good news for skiers: Greek Peak's slopes will be open this year.
Despite financial troubles stemming from last year's lack of snowfall, the popular ski resort hopes to rebound this year.
Through some fancy financial footwork Greek Peak has been able to remain open.
That's good news for the resort which is one of the largest employers in the area.
"We are in the middle of a chapter 11 re-organization. We're working with the FDIC. They have provided funding for us to get into the season. And they're working with us to get a resolution. We kind of had a perfect storm last year," said Wesley Kryger.
"It's pretty fun because in the winter you can ski, there's a bunch of festivals here. There's a lot of things to do but the only thing I don't like about it is clowns," said PJ Gauthier.
That young man was using a climbing wall at the annual Greek Peak fall festival.
It's an event they put on every year geared towards getting people excited for the upcoming ski season.
