Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Three men are in custody after a search warrant turned up thousands of dollars in heroin, crack cocaine and cash.
The Ithaca SWAT team searched a residence in the 200 block of W. Green Street just after 5 a.m. Friday.
According to Ithaca Police, the following items were found in the home:
• 130 bags of heroin
• 7.6 grams of raw heroin, packaged for re-sale
• 20 rocks of crack cocaine
• $5,000 cash
The street value of the heroin is approximately $10,000 and the crack cocaine about $600, as stated in the police report.
John Wilson, 36, Tyrue Wilson, 31, and Paul McCallop, 30, all from Brooklyn, were arrested on two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.
McCallup was taken to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond bail, Tyrue Wilson taken to the Tompkins County Jail without bail and John Wilson is awaiting arraignment.
“This resulted from street-level interdictions by officers on routine patrol. It’s grassroots police work at its finest. I’m pleased that the warrant was served without incident,” said Chief of Police John R. Barber.
According to Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick, this is the third drug bust in the last three months.
