Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Baby, you're a firework. As Katy Perry would say.

It all started with a few fireworks 30 years ago.

Wednesday, Highland Park still holds the largest Fourth of July Celebration in the Southern Tier.

Entrance to the park is free. Food and drink vendors have set up stands throughout the whole park. Families are taking advantage of the beautiful weather and fun events.

Activities like the National Guard Climbing Wall, the Jumping Jungle Gym, and Arts and Crafts are just some of the entertainment that will be going on all day.

"We have a chicken and rib barbeque that's going on, with our Endwell fire department. We're going to be opening the pool very shortly. The carousel is running. And we have all of our Town of Union residents are starting to come in with their families. And, of course tonight, we have the big show," said Town of Union Supervisor Rose Sotak.

That big show she's talking about is the annual 4th of July fireworks display that will start at 9:30 p.m. The show is free for the community to enjoy.
