Nichols, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Labor Day is celebrated in a big way in one town in Tioga County. People pack the streets of Nichols for 100 years of Old Home Days.

Marching bands, floats and classic cars welcomed the crowd to Main Street on Monday morning.

A big parade kicked off an entire day of festivities for Labor Day.

Three bands played their tunes including the Kirby Band and the Sayre Marching Band.

"This is the biggest event we have in the community. In fact, it's the only parade in Nichols. There used to be a fourth of July parade. But I hope this year is the best parade we've ever had," said Richard Olmstead, Parade Organizer.

Everyone followed the music down to the Old Home Day celebrations at Kirby Park. This is the 100th year of the event. It's a time for the community to come together. Many people from Nichols return home each year for the festivities.

Old Home Day was a two-day event this year. On Sunday there was music, food and vendors at Kirby Park.

At Kirby Park, there's plenty of food, games, vendors and music until 7 P.M. Monday.

Organizers expected 1,500 to come out to the 100th Old Home Day this year.
