Town of Maine, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A 3-vehicle crash sends one man to an area hospital via helicopter.

It happened just before 4:00 P.M. Wednesday on Route 26.

Police say a silver sedan heading north stopped to turn left onto Daugherty Road as two motorcycles approached the opposite way.

Police say the sedan was hit from behind by a truck, pushing the car into the path of the oncoming motorcycles.

The car hit one of the motorcycles, sending its rider under a nearby guide rail and into a creek below.

Officers on the scene reported to emergency dispatchers that man sustained head injuries.

A helicopter took him to Wilson Hospital.

Stanley Rincavage, 46, of Glen Aubrey is charged with following too closely for this crash on Route 26 in the Town of Maine.

Rincavage tells authorities sun glare is to blame for the crash.

Investigators are not releasing the name of the victim, but say he is in stable condition.
