Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Flood of 2011 will be, for a long time, seen in the clean-up and construction afterwards. One local photographer has preserved the most dramatic images during the event through a new book.

Ed Aswad took his camera up in a helicopter September 8 as the flood waters reached their highest marks in the Susquehanna Valley.

The photos show a chilling perspective of downtown Owego, MacArthur School, BAE Systems and many other locations under water.

But, there are also words from experts.

"It has comments from a variety of experts describing what happened and how it happened, and I'm a believer in the five W's -- who, what, where, when, and especially, why it happened," Aswad said.

There is also a prayer in the book for children who may have lost animals in the flood.

The book is on sale now at several locations:

Wegmans -- Johnson City
Schneider's Market -- Kirkwood
Barnes & Noble -- Vestal
Tom's Coffee, Cards & Gifts -- Binghamton
Manley's Mighty Mart -- Multiple Locations
Avenue Antiques -- Endicott
