Choconut Twp, PA (WBNG Binghamton) The freezing rain didn't stop todays special ribbon cutting at the New Choconut Creek Apartments.

The First Ward Action Council held an open house at its new apartments, just off route 267 in Choconut Township.

The senior living apartment community has 24 units available with either one or two bedrooms.

Both have all the amenities a senior may need, including increased accessibility, an emergency alert system and a computer learning lab.

"Everybody seems to love it," said First Ward Action Council Executive Director Jerry Willard. "If you grew up in the country - rural area - and you don't want to relocate to more of an urban area this is the place your looking for. You got everything here, the creek outback, the wildlife, the color foliage in the fall, It's a nice, nice place "

The community is now taking applications for the 8 to 10 apartments remaining.

Each will rent for between $300 to $600 per month.
