Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Theodore Roosevelt Elementary welcomed Kenn Nesbitt on Thursday.
Nesbitt writes funny children's poems that include playful rhymes and mischievous twists. He incorporates creatures, pets, families and interesting characters.
He has written 10 books and his poems have also appeared in magazines and school textbooks.
Nesbitt wrote his first children's poem, Scrawny Tawny Skinner, in 1994.
His visit to the school was funded through a grant from the Binghamton Foundation. Nesbitt will be visiting Wilson Elementary on Friday.
Nesbitt is 50 years old and lives in Spokane, Washington.
