River Emergency in Nichols

Nichols, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Two people called 911 after witnessing a man jump from a bridge into the Susquehanna River in Tioga County.

New York State Police say the man parked his car on the bridge and jumped.

First responders arrived on the scene after the call at 4:12 pm.

Rescue boats were put in from a launch off West River Road near Tioga Downs in Nichols.

The man was rescued and taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.

State Police have not released information on his condition.
