Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Some roads were closed this morning for a Binghamton apartment fire - but they are now open.

Crews are still on the scene of an early morning fire in Binghamton that started around 3:00 am at a 2-story apartment at 3 Seminary Avenue.

Binghamton Fire Department and Police responded to the blaze.

First responding crews reported heavy fire throughout the front section of the building.

Binghamton Police say a neighbor who lives behind the house told authorities the house is vacant.

Authorities tell Action News there is no sign of someone in the residence during the fire this morning.

Electrical lines are down and NYSEG is responding to the location.

Police and fire evacuated nearby residences.

Sections of Oak Street, Seminary Avenue, Chapel Place and Murray Street were closed but authorities say all those routes are now open to traffic.
