Town of Nanticoke, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Multiple crews work to put out a house fire in the Town of Nanticoke.
The call came in around 11:30 a.m. Monday for a fire at 3580 Route 26.
Gary Smith, Glen Aubrey Fire Chief, says the fire started in an upstairs bedroom and moved into some insulation in the attic of the home.
It took crews ten to fifteen minutes to put out the flames. The homeowner was there at the time of the fire but no one was injured.
Fire crews from Glen Aubrey, Town of Maine and Chenango all responded. The Broome County Sheriff's Department and Maine Emergency Squad was also there.
Smith says the cause of the fire appears to be electrical and that the home is livable.
