Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The holiday tradition "Toys for Tots" gets a big donation. Friday morning, Binghamton University's Physical Facilities department presented a $4000 check to the organization.

The department says the money was raised through the Mangino Golf Tournament. The group also gave 100 toys to the organization.

Toys for Tots organizers say the need for toys this holiday season has increased since last year.

"Especially after the flood we had, every donation is imperative this year. People probably lost toys in the flood, so we're going to try to make people's Christmas the best we can this year. So every donation counts," says Steven Ward, President of Toys for Tots.

To donate, you can drop toys off at any police department in the area. you may also visit the Toys for Tots facility located at 201 Main Street in the old Video King building.

It's open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. .
