Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An 18-wheeler overturned on Route 26 Tuesday morning, trapping the driver.

The truck rolled over at 9:07 a.m. Tuesday on Route 434 Eastbound after exiting the Route 26 South off ramp.

The driver was trapped in the cabin and suffered minor injuries. It is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt. Police say the truck was traveling too fast for the off ramp and issued a speeding ticket.

Police do not believe fatigue or alcohol contributed to the accident.

The tractor trailer is owned by Lopke. The business distributes sand and other aggregate materials in the Southern Tier of New York and northern Pennsylvania.
