Conklin, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday after jumping from her truck as it rolled into a pond.

It happened just after 8 a.m. Tuesday at 52 Donna Lane.

The Conklin Fire Chief said a woman who lived at the home got into a Dodge Dakota in the driveway.

"A lady went to leave her home this morning, got in her car started up the driveway and the brakes went out on the car. The vehicle rolled back down the hill, she jumped out of the vehicle. The vehicle ran over her leg, I believe, and the car proceeded down into the pond," said Conklin Fire Chief, Bill Gorman.

She was taken to the hospital.

The Broome County Water Rescue team was called in to help a wrecker retrieve the truck from the pond.

The Conklin and Town of Binghamton fire departments and New York State Police were also on the scene.

It took crews nearly three hours to pull the truck and tow it out from the water.
